A Supported Way to Begin Your Yoga Practice

Starting yoga can feel daunting, especially if you’re returning after time away, managing injuries, or simply looking for something calmer and more personal than large loud gym classes, or fast paced exercise classes.

Foundations is a four-week introductory pathway at Citta Flow, designed to help you settle into yoga with confidence, clarity, and support.

Rather than dropping into a class and hoping for the best, Foundations offers a steady, guided beginning — giving you time to learn, ask questions, and move in a way that truly supports your body.

We also run a Beginners 4 week Course twice a year (check schedule and more info here)

  • Foundations is ideal if you:

    • are new to yoga or returning after a long break

    • feel stiff, cautious, or unsure about what your body needs

    • want to move safely, without pressure to keep up

    • prefer smaller groups and personal guidance

    • are seeking calm, steady yoga rather than fast-paced styles

    • value understanding why you’re doing a posture, not just how it looks

    You don’t need to be flexible, fit, or experienced. You simply need a willingness to begin — exactly as you are.

  • Over four weeks, Foundations supports you to:

    • build confidence attending regular classes

    • learn the fundamentals of classical Hatha yoga

    • develop awareness of breath, alignment, and effort

    • understand how to adapt postures for your body

    • feel steadier, stronger, and more at ease on the mat

    Classes are gentle, unhurried, and taught with clarity and care. You’ll never be rushed, corrected just for how a posture should look (we are all about how it feels for you) or expected to push beyond your limits..

    • 4 weeks of practice

    • 2–3 classes per week from our Gentle Hatha, Restorative, and Hatha schedule

    • Small group classes in a calm, supportive studio

    • Taught by an experienced teacher who gets to know you

    Foundations allows you to attend regular classes, while still feeling held and supported as a beginner or returning student.

  • Foundations is a one-time introductory pathway for new students.
