To the best of my ability, I pledge to live my life based on the Yamas and Niyamas:

Ahimsa/non-harming – May I honour all sentient beings, harming none and having compassion for all.

Satya/truth – May my thoughts, words and deeds be immersed in truth.

Asteya/non-stealing – May I never steal from another, and may I ensure that the things of the world do not steal my peace.

Brahmacharya/moderation – May I walk a path of moderation towards the divine.

Aparigraha/non-possessiveness – May I be filled with generosity and give freely to those who need it.

Saucha/purity – May my body, actions, words, thoughts and life be filled with purity. May I be pure of heart.

Santhosha/contentment – May I be grateful for life’s lessons and find contentment in all that life has to offer

Tapas/discipline – May I remain dedicated and committed to this path with my whole heart

Swadhyaya/self study and study of sacred texts – May I continue to study the path of peace, explore who I am, and love who I am.

Ishvara Pranidhana/surrender/devotion – May I surrender my ego to a higher power and live a life filled with devotion.
